- What motivates you to attend Kodi Connect events?
What draws me back to Kodi Connect is the quality of the conversation. In cybersecurity and IT, it’s easy to get siloed inside your own organization’s challenges. Kodi Connect breaks open. I’m motivated by the opportunity to connect with peers who are wrestling with the same problems I am - whether that’s securing complex enterprise environments, navigating AI risk, or building security cultures that actually stick. The events feel genuinely practitioner-focused rather than vendor-driven, and that makes all the difference.
- If you were explaining the value of our events to a first-time attendee, what would you say makes them worth their time?
I’d tell them to come up with their real problems - not their polished LinkedIn version. Kodi Connect is one of the few spaces where you can say “we’re struggling with X” and get a genuine, experienced-based response from someone who’s been there. The value isn’t in the keynotes alone; it’s in the hallway conversations, the roundtables, the follow-up connections. If you show up curious and open, you will leave better equipped than when you arrived. That’s a rare promise most events can’t keep.
- What’s one major trend shaping the future of IT and cybersecurity over the next few years?
Agentic AI. The industry is rapidly moving from AI that assists humans to AI that acts autonomously on their behalf - scheduling, researching, executing workflows across systems. That shift fundamentally changes the attack surface. Organizations need to start thinking about identity and access management not just for humans and service accounts, but for AI agents. The question of “what can this agent do, and who authorized it?” will be central to enterprise security architecture within the next two to three years.
- How do you create a culture of security and innovation across teams?
Culture follows incentives. If security is purely a compliance checkbox, people will treat it that way. I focus on repositioning security as an enabler rather than a blocker, showing development and operations teams that thoughtful security design accelerates delivery by reducing rework and incident response overhead. Regular lunch-and-learns, red team exercises that celebrate learning over blame, and embedding security champions within business units all help make security part of everyone’s professional identity, not just IT’s problem.
- How do you balance security, innovation, and speed in a fast-moving environment?
I think of it as risk-adjusted velocity. You don’t have to choose between speed and security if you build security controls into the process early rather than bolting them on at the end. Threat modeling at the design stage, automated security testing in CI/CD pipelines, and pre-approved technology patterns all let teams move fast within guardrails they helped define. The organizations that struggle are the ones treating security as a final gate rather than an ongoing conversation throughout the development lifecycle.
Kodi Connect Key Takeaways:
- Enterprise cybersecurity leadership requires proactive risk management and resilient security operations: Modern organizations operating in highly regulated industries must prioritize comprehensive security program development, risk governance, and system security planning to build resilient enterprise environments capable of addressing evolving cyber threats and operational challenges.
