- What was your reason for joining the Kodi Connect Advisory Board?
I’ve spent my career as a Digital Healthcare Architect, and I’ve seen that the real challenge today isn’t just the tech—it’s how we govern it. I joined the board to help other leaders move from big-picture ideas to actual, scalable results. Having received a Technical Excellence and Appreciation Award from the CIO of Mediclinic in the UAE, I’ve seen firsthand what it takes to lead digital transformation on an international stage. I want to bring that same focus on resilience and mission-critical design to our community here.
- How do Kodi Connect events provide value for your time?
It’s all about the high-level conversation. I’ve spent over two decades building massive systems—from major projects in the UAE to my current work with a major U.S. healthcare and pharmacy services firm. At this scale, you face unique challenges. Kodi Connect is one of the few places where I can sit down with other executives and talk honestly about what’s working and how we’re navigating the future of digital health.
- What’s one area where the tech community needs to work together more effectively?
We need to stop building in silos. I recently judged the Canopy Global Demo Night and an international AI hackathon in Germany. I saw so many brilliant founders working on incredible tools, but they don’t always talk to each other. As a Dallas City Ambassador for Kodi Connect, I’m pushing for better standards and collaboration. We need plug-and-play frameworks so that a great innovation in one part of healthcare can actually be used across the whole country.
- How do you stay current in such a fast-moving industry?
I stay active where the standards are being set. I serve as a Member Leader for the Open Source Group at the Forbes Technology Council and publish research indexed on Google Scholar. I also love judging and mentoring at global scales, such as the 5th Hack-Nation Global AI Hackathon, which involves over 2,000 participants from across the globe. Whether I’m reviewing a new tech book for Apress or working on IEEE committees, I make sure I’m always learning from the international community.
- How do you see AI reshaping the role of IT and security teams?
As a leader within the Forbes Technology Council, we’re moving from just writing code to governing AI agents. After being selected to mentor and provide jury-style feedback for the Hack-Nation Global AI Hackathon, it’s clear our jobs are shifting. We aren’t just builders anymore; we are the guardians of the system. As I wrote in my #1-ranked Data Science series on HackerNoon, if your data isn’t perfect, your AI will fail. We have to focus on the vital parts, like data integrity, to make sure the AI actually works when it counts.
